Scripture reading: Galatians 5:16-26

Meditation:

    The invasion of an unwelcome visitor, a rodent, captured my attention as it scampered across the floor, making its way toward the food pantry. After several unsuccessful attempts, we eliminated the rodent and then sealed the crack in the wall that it had used as its entrance. This reminds me of the little sins we turned a blind eye to, allowing them to creep into our lives and invade our hearts and minds. 

    Meddling in that which is forbidden feels right, but there are always consequences that follow. The sin that is attractive and sweet will eventually destroy us. The act of sin brings us great pleasure, but do not be deceived, for whatsoever a man sows, that will he also reap. He that soweth to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. The penalty for sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Forsake the pleasures of sin and enjoy sweet salvation through Jesus Christ.

Let us pray:

    Heavenly Father, we place the desires of our hearts before you, the things that occupy our minds, the selfish desires, the desires of the flesh, for the attributes of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, Saviour of sinners, we surrender every ungodly altar to You. We seal and shut every spiritual door granting ungodly access, and we revoke any unconscious or conscious alignment with the habits that create them. We denounce fleshly desires to pursue salvation and eternal life. Deliver our souls, O God, from vanity, from the consequences of sin. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so we can experience Your deep love, kindness, and forgiveness every day. Preserve and keep us from the works of the flesh, Lord, and keep our minds focused on You. Stand by us, O God, as we turn from seeking worldly pleasures to pursuing righteousness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Good morning Scripture reading: Romans 12:2 Worship song: Clean Heart   Meditation:      Rebooting your computer once per week facilitates optimum performance by clearing the memory and deleting temporary files, thereby enhancing speed and reducing lag issues. One of the reasons our computers do not work properly is that a file is corrupted.
