The Two Different Paths

Good morning

Scripture reading: Matthew 7:13-14

Worship song: Road is rough

Meditation:

Jesus, while speaking to his followers, used the gate metaphorically to bring about an awareness of the two different paths that exist. The gates represent the narrow road that leads to everlasting life and the broad road that leads to destruction. The broad road is for those who choose not to surrender to God and whose lifestyle choices do not align with God's will. It is for those who desire the glamour and glitter the world offers. The broad road is for the ungodly. On the other hand, the narrow road leads to a truly satisfying life, one filled with joy, peace, and love that grows sweeter with each passing year. This road is for those who choose to follow Christ. It is for those who swear allegiance to the Lamb.

We are given choices, and our designation will determine which path we take. When the treasures you have lived for in this world have lost their glow, and the end of life’s journey is completed, what now? Jesus urges us to strive to enter at the narrow gate while the opportunity presents itself, for many at the last minute will seek to enter in and shall not be able to. Only the unwise set out on a journey not knowing or considering where it will end. Which gate will you choose? The narrow gate that leads to eternal life or the broad gate that leads to destruction. Before you are two roads, hell, and heaven, choose wisely.

Let's pray:

Sovereign God, the Alpha and Omega, the great I AM, I am grateful to you, O God, for lighting our darkness through your spoken words. Father, I understand that our choice is determined by the road we choose to travel. Father, help us to remain on the narrow road and when difficulty arises, keep our eyes focused and steadfast on the reward that awaits us. Heavenly Father, we stand before the cross and the Lord of grace and mercy as people in need of guidance, forgiveness for our blindness, and hardness of heart. But most of all, we stand before you as a people in desperate need of you. Father, have mercy on us, anchor our souls, and guide our hearts back to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Wishing you a joyful day. 👏💓🙏
