Testimony:

    For years, I fought a silent struggle with my own mind, constantly grappling with the wandering nature of my thoughts. I genuinely believed I was the sole individual experiencing such uncontrolled, intrusive thoughts. That perception changed profoundly when I listened to the testimonies of others, including seasoned ministers of the gospel who confessed to facing similar struggles: actively engaged in prayer, worship, or reading scripture, only to realize the mind had drifted completely off course. Their vulnerability provided immense relief and shifted my perspective. 

    However, training my mind and redirecting it back to the word of God is my responsibility. My mind does not automatically go where it should. I must intentionally control mind-wandering, which most of the time focuses on irrelevant matters. I must take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, not by my own might, I can train my thoughts by intentionally setting my affections on things above and meditating on the word of God instead of reflecting on earthly things. 

    This commitment requires a complete mental renewal centered entirely on what is factual, honest, right, pure, lovely, and commendable.

Let us pray:

    Almighty God, I urgently seek Your divine help as I recognize that one of the most challenging experiences I face is a wandering mind. Lord, I anticipate the day when nothing can easily divert my attention. I desire to be so firmly rooted in Your word, feasting and meditating upon it, that nothing else can distract me. Father, eliminate the distractions, the influences that attract my attention, and the things I struggle to release. Lord, I seek to remain consistent and committed to studying Your word. Please quiet my racing thoughts and calm my heart. Help me take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. Fill my mind with Your truth and keep me in perfect peace. Lord, I surrender my mind to You, trusting Your power to renew and transform it. In the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

An Abundance of Rain

Good morning Scripture: 1 Kings 18:41-46 Worship song: Baba (Let it Rain)   Meditation:      Elijah was a man subject to the same passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it rained not on the earth for the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain. Elijah had prayed the drought into existence. Now, it was time for the drought to end. He began to petition the God of the universe for rain. Not a little rain, but enough rain to quench the thirst of the land. After Elijah's seventh request, rain came in abundance. Good morning Scripture reading: Matthew 9:9-13 Worship song: Softly and Tenderly   Meditation:      Matthew, a collector of internal revenue, was diligently collecting taxes as is customary; however, when Jesus called, he immediately left everything behind and followed him. The Pharisees perceived tax collectors as adversaries to be avoided. Jesus regarded them as souls in need of spiritual healing. While the Pharisees imposed strict rules on tax collectors, Jesus extended genuine forgiveness and offered a fresh beginning. Mandate For The Mission

Good morning   Scripture reading: Matthew 18:19-20 Worship song: Go   Meditation:      The mandate for mission is an authoritative command, a divine commission that is non-negotiable for believers to spread the gospel and make disciples. Those who are sent by God are commissioned to go forth and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things as commanded by God. Jesus told his followers to travel everywhere and share the good news with everyone, adding that faith and baptism bring salvation, while rejecting the message leads to condemnation (St. Mark 16:15-16).       We are commissioned to declare the glory of the Lord among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations, for great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised.
