Overcoming Evil With Good

Meditation:

    Within each of us lies the tendency to do good and the potential for evil. However, the outcome depends on whether we choose to do evil or good. If you shun the appearance of evil, evil will not dwell in your presence, but if you meddle in or allow evil to reside within you, it will control and corrupt you. We can either allow evil forces to dominate our minds or we can conquer evil by choosing to do good. Evil is like an unchecked tumor, if you overlook the early warning signs and allow it to take root, it will relentlessly consume your morality, leading to a state of heartless cruelty and emotional coldness. 

    Overcome evil by actively responding to injustice, hate, or negativity with kindness, love, and grace rather than retaliation. Do not repay evil for evil; practice kindness, forgive and release; and bless those who persecute and treat you poorly. Do not allow evil to overcome you, but overcome evil by doing good. Doing good is the only weapon that should be used to fight and win against evil. Let us not conform to the things of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds so we can resist evil and grasp what is good. Keep your heart, hands, and mind, clean and pure. Let not evil have dominion over you. Choose good, repudiate evil, and let the peace of God dwell in you richly.

Let’s pray:

    Jehovah Jireh, You are a holy and righteous God. Lord, keep our hearts and minds steadfast on you. Let evil not reside within our hearts, O God, nor the hearts of our family and friends. We entrust you with our hearts, trusting you to safeguard our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being at all times and to assist us in overcoming evil with good. Deliver us from any thoughts or evil desires that seek to conquer our souls, minds, and hearts. Almighty God, I declare that all evil schemes, plots, deceptions, and forces, whether known or unknown that are directed against us, are rendered powerless in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Mighty God, we thank you wholeheartedly for destroying strongholds. Keep our minds focused on you, Lord God, and on things that are just, pure, honest, and holy. Father, let Your radiant presence and goodness dwell in our midst, now and always. Amen. (Child of the King).

Jesus did not descend from a perfect, holy human race, he entered a race that was broken, defiled by sin, and in need of a redeemer. His ancestors were not solely righteous, but defined by imperfections. Good morning Scripture reading: Matthew 16:24-27 Worship song: What Shall I Render   Meditation:      Speaking to the disciples, Jesus asked, 'What is the point of having everything you want in this life if you lose your soul in the process? Jesus urges followers to prioritize eternal values over earthly gain, noting that what a person treasures the most reveals the true condition of the heart. St. Matthew 6:19-22 teaches that earthly possessions are temporal and exposed to destruction, while spiritual, heavenly investments are secure and eternal. The things which are seen and are held dearly are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.       Since life is a fleeting moment and earthly treasures are temporary, we must set our hearts on things that have everlasting value.
