New Year's Day Prayer

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Let us pray:

    Loving Savior, we thank you wholeheartedly for your divine blessings, mercy, grace, and unconditional love. We worship and adore you, O God, expressing sincere gratitude for allowing us to see this new year. God of a second chance, we have faltered, we have abused our power and have stepped out of your will. As we look inward and examine our hearts, we recognize how easily we allowed the distractions of the world to steal the precious time that was meant for communion with you. We are guilty, O God, of conforming to the world's patterns. 

    In repentance, we come before You, Lord, acknowledging our error in prioritizing worldly influences over Your divine will and our failure to give You sincere praise. Father, we place the days, weeks, months, and the years ahead in your hands and give you dominion power over our choices, decisions, and plans. Lord, we offer ourselves as vessels to be remolded and renewed by You, seeking a transformation of our mindsets and a redirection of our path back to You. We embrace Your divine power, desiring to draw nearer and cultivate an unbreakable relationship. May Your light shine brightly within us and through us, so that others may come to know You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen. (Child of the King).

Good morning Scripture reading: Joshua 2 Worship song: Jesus Use Me    Meditation: There are a specific purpose and plan for everything under the sun, a principle that the story of Rahab, a Canaanite woman and a prominent figure in the book of Joshua, beautifully illustrates. Rahab resided in Jericho, a city known for its strong pagan worship, during the time when the Israelites, led by Joshua, were preparing to conquer the land of Canaan. She is highlighted as someone who hid the Israelites' spies demonstrating her faith in God. She believed in the God of the Israelites and was aware of his divine power and faithfulness towards the Israelites.       For her bravery and kindness towards the spies, Joshua ensured that her entire household was rescued before the city was destroyed. Good morning Scripture Reading: James 1:12-17 Hymn: Yield Not to Temptation   Meditation:      We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that there is no temptation we experience that is not common among humans. There is absolutely nothing we can do to avoid being tempted, and none of us is exempt from being beguiled. Satan is crafty and cunning, so much so that he thought he could beguile the Son of God. The only power Satan has over us is temptation; when confronted with a situation that appeals to our human desires, we are all capable of succumbing to that pressure.       Temptation is not easy to resist, but God's promise assures us that we will not be tempted above that which we can endure. No doubt there will be times when we fail the test because we rely on our own strength, because we become distracted, and because we ignore the warning signals. Good morning Scripture reading: Acts 3:19-26 Worship song: O Come to the Altar   Meditation:      We are encouraged to genuinely repent of our transgressions and turn to God, so our sins can be completely blotted out, granting us the right to experience a time of refreshing in the presence of the Lord. A time of refreshing is a promised state of spiritual renewal, restoration, and profound hope promised to individuals seeking a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. This salvation is possible upon the acceptance of Jesus Christ as the prophesied Messiah. Those who refused Jesus faced judgment as a result of their own decision and are already condemned. The final consequence for individuals who decline salvation and the invitation to change their ways is eternal condemnation.       Anyone who disregards Jesus and his teachings will face severe punishment for their actions.
