Meditation:

    Jesus addressed the crowd's concerns regarding the Galilaeans whom Pontius Pilate slaughtered inside the temple while they were offering their religious sacrifices. The people reporting this tragedy to Jesus likely assumed that these Galilaeans suffered a gruesome fate because they were extremely wicked sinners being punished by God. Jesus referred to another tragedy that took place at the Siloam tower that killed 18 people. He made it abundantly clear that those who died in both incidents are no more sinful than anyone else in Jerusalem. Jesus warned that sudden, unexpected death can happen to anyone, emphasizing that if a person does not repent, they will perish. 

    We live in an evil, unsafe, vindictive world where bad things happen. It is not about why the world is broken; it is about whether our lives are fully aligned with God's heart. No one should judge another's fate based on perceived actions. This judgmental practice is exemplified in the book of Job, where Job's friends falsely accused him, assuming that his severe suffering and tragedies were God's punishments for secret sins. 

    Instead of debating or focusing on why God permits suffering, our focus should be on maintaining a state of spiritual readiness before Him. Life on earth is temporary, but God's protection endures forever. The moment we walk away from sin and give Him our lives, we unlock a secure, eternal future.

Let us pray:

    Almighty God, Eternal Father, and Creator of the universe, we humbly come before You, confessing that we all have sinned and fall short of Your glory. Lord, please forgive us for questioning Your sovereignty, though not out of doubt of Your control, but because pain, hurt, and loss are difficult to comprehend. Lord, we may not immediately understand or readily accept the tragedy and loss, but we trust Your divine compassion to comfort our aching hearts. Almighty God, strengthen us to stay faithful and devoted to You, aligning our ways with Your will in complete submission. Remind us that unless we repent, surrender wholeheartedly to You, and turn from sin, we shall likewise perish. We commit our lives into Your hands, Lord, trusting You to guide us on the right path. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

When Enemies Become Friends

Good morning Scripture reading: Ephesians 2:8-9 Song: Grace Will Always Be Greater Than Sin   Meditation:      If performing good deeds could cancel our transgressions, most of our sins would remain, due to good deeds being either few or nonexistent. Consider the frequency of our sins per hour and compare it to the number of good deeds we accomplish daily. Sin is primarily conceived and committed within the mind and is manifested through our actions.
