Meditation:

    Demonstrating mercy requires taking practical, compassionate action to assist those in need, regardless of their background or identity. During the time of Jesus, Jews and Samaritans harbored deep mutual hostility. Nevertheless, the Samaritan did not allow cultural, racial, or religious differences to impede him from providing aid. Among us, there are many priests and Levites, but also some good Samaritans. 

    We all encounter challenges that may cause us to feel disheartened at times, and it is often tempting to look away when we see someone in distress. While it may seem easier to ignore, walk on the other side, and keep going, we cannot profess love for God if we refuse to help or show mercy to those in need. 

    If we say we love God and disregard the needs of our brothers and sisters, we are perceived as liars. Our love for God is best reflected in our treatment of others. The love we display towards others reveals our love for God. Jesus affirms, "Anything you do for the least of my people, you have done it unto me." The story of the Good Samaritan reminds us that genuine mercy is never free; it requires us to share our own resources.

Let us pray: 

    Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, O God. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, O God. Father, as You extend mercy towards us, may we also show mercy, kindness, and the exemplary love of Christ to others, demonstrating compassion to those around us. Please, Lord, transform our hardened hearts into hearts like Yours;  hearts that are pure, merciful, and compassionate, enabling us to treat others with the same kindness we desire for ourselves. Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray that You bind the spirit of envy, bitterness, hatred, and callousness. Let not the works of the flesh reside within us, O God. Fill us anew, mighty God, with the spirit of kindness, love, and compassion, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Good morning   Scripture reading: 1 Peter 1:13-21 Worship song: Make Me Over Again   Meditation:      It appears that individuals are experiencing difficulty in accepting their physical appearance. The highest priority seems to be placed on their physical looks, leading them to invest heavily in their appearance and pursue radical changes to attain their ideal body. Many deplete worldly resources striving to reconstruct their outer appearance; however, true beauty is discovered when we permit the Creator to reshape our inner soul. Good morning Scripture reading: Ephesians 5 Praise song: Power of prayer   Meditation:      The role of women has changed significantly over time. While women, traditionally seen as housewives, now undertake a broader range of responsibilities, men must still fulfill their God-ordained role as head of the household regardless of whether or not they are currently executing this role. There position is not dependent on their actions,   but on God's divine appointment. Good morning Scripture reading: St. Luke 13:1-5 Worship song: I Repent   Meditation:      Jesus addressed the crowd's concerns regarding the Galilaeans whom Pontius Pilate slaughtered inside the temple while they were offering their religious sacrifices. The people reporting this tragedy to Jesus likely assumed that these Galilaeans suffered a gruesome fate because they were extremely wicked sinners being punished by God. Jesus referred to another tragedy that took place at the Siloam tower that killed 18 people. He made it abundantly clear that those who died in both incidents are no more sinful than anyone else in Jerusalem.
