The Bread That Sustains

Meditation:

    The bread that Jesus offers cannot be purchased with money, nor is it found in a bakery. No earthly combination of ingredients can produce this bread. This bread is not a product of earthly means but a divine provision symbolizing Jesus Christ himself. Addressing the multitude and his disciples, Jesus boldly identifies himself as the bread of life. He said, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." 

    Jesus is the bread of life, nourishing and sustaining us spiritually. Jesus promised that those who come to Him will have their spiritual hunger satisfied, and their thirsty souls quenched. "Incline your ear and come unto me," says the Lord; "hear, and your soul shall live, and I will make an everlasting covenant with you and show you mercy." Let us work not for the bread which perishes, but for that bread which endures unto everlasting life, which the Son of Man shall give unto us.

Let us pray:

    Bread of Heaven sent down from glory, our souls hunger and thirst for You, Lord God, in this dry and barren land. We hunger for the bread that truly satisfies. To whom shall we go, Lord? You are the bread of life. Earnestly, we seek You, Lord, with a desire to know You more. We need more of You, Lord. Lord, You are the only source that can satisfy us completely and fill the emptiness within us. Only You, O God, can quench this thirst within and satisfy the deepest void of our souls. Draw us closer to You, Lord, and establish an everlasting covenant with us. In the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Good morning Scripture reading: Ezekiel 36:25-27 Worship sing: Empty me, Lord   Meditation:      Imagine a wastebasket filled yet you willfully continue to cram trash into it resulting in waste spilling onto the floor. This pattern demonstrates a heart filled with spiritual baggage that leaves no room for divine contentment, peace, growth, or new insight. Carrying the weight of past sins and unresolved guilt creates a roadblock, suffocating our inner growth. Good morning Scripture reading: St. Matthew 13:3-9 Worship song: Rooted and Grounded    Meditation:      In the parable of the Sower who went to sow seeds, Jesus gave four different scenarios: the seed that fell on the wayside, the seed that fell on stony ground, the seed that fell among thorns, and the seed that fell on good ground. The seed that fell on the good ground represents the believers who hear the word, accept it, and bring forth fruit. The believers who are firmly anchored in Christ are like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, its leaves do not wither;   and whatever they do will prosper.       Those who are not firmly rooted endure but for a short time, for their roots are dried and their branches wither because they have no faith in God.
