Discouragement is something that we encounter daily, which can negatively impact us due to our lack of confidence in ourselves or God and lack of hope for the future. It can deeply affect our emotions, spiritual, and physical well-being. Don't be disheartened when you feel discouraged; you are not alone, for even the faithful servants of God become discouraged at times. After the death of Moses, God commanded Joshua to be strong, courageous, and not to be dismayed or afraid. Joshua needed that reassurance to lead the people to the promised land.       In Deuteronomy 31 and Joshua 1, God encourages us to be strong and courageous. His heart was heavy with grief, and his countenance changed so drastically that he could not be consoled. However, when he received the astonishing news that his son, Joseph, was actually alive, dwelt in Egypt, and was the governor of Pharaoh's estate, his spirit was rejuvenated. He was greatly cheered and strengthened by the glad tidings, and immediately prepared for the journey to Egypt, for he wanted to see Joseph before he died. For over four hundred years, the Israelites suffered under the repression of Pharaoh and his taskmasters. When individuals fail to take responsibility for their actions, it can lead to mistrust and hinder the ability to resolve issues effectively.
