The After Effect
Good day
Scripture Reading: Genesis 3
Worship Song: I Won't Go Back
Meditation:
At first glance, everything may seem enticing and appealing, drawing you into a warm and inviting ambiance. However, as you plunge deeper, captivated by the tranquility, you soon realize too late that you have become ensnared in a web of deception.
This was the situation Eve faced when she succumbed to the subtle manipulation of the serpent, who beguiled and led her astray. The adversary skillfully twisted the truth, making it difficult for Eve to detect the scheme he had concocted. The desire for that which is visually appealing can easily distract us from pursuing what is good for our hearts and souls. Eve chose with her eyes, and because of the lust of physical eyes, she would not see beyond the vantage point as her spiritual eyes were blinded. The aftermath of her decision was devastating not just for her but also for her husband, who partakes in her forbidden choice. Their act of disobedience cost them their freedom, stripping them of their joyful life in the garden and close communion with God. They now had to labor for what was once freely provided. God does not tolerate sin, as it creates enmity between Himself and humanity.
What appeals to our senses can leave a lasting impact, so we should choose
wisely. Strive to make decisions that align with holiness and foster spiritual
growth.
Let us pray:
Jehovah God, thank you for your son, Jesus Christ, who came in the form of flesh to break down the wall of separation, granting us freedom from sin and restoring our relationship with you. We have faced many encounters with the imposter and deceiver whose desire is to destroy us through his cunning devices. Father, through your divine power we can stand triumphantly victorious over sin. Almighty God, I pray we will seek your divine intervention first when making decisions, especially decisions that baffle our minds, decisions that are difficult to make, and the ones that cause us to waver between more than one course of action. Almighty God, I need you to help us make the right choices and prevent us from making ones that will be devastating and disastrous to our well-being and spiritual life through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Have a wonderful day. 💪💘
