Preparing for a Race
Good morning
Scripture reading: Hebrews 12:1-3
Worship song: I Will Run to You
Meditation:
Winning a world championship is considered one of the highest achievements in athletics. Every athlete who competes in a race desire to win a gold medal and also to become the world's fastest champion. Athletes competing against equally motivated and determined runners must push themselves beyond their normal limit to obtain victory. To have a fair chance of winning the race requires determination, commitment, vigorous training, sacrifices, endurance, patience, and discipline. As children of God, we are running in a noncompetitive race, and the challenge is to pursue what God wants for us rather than what we want for ourselves. We have the responsibility to press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly reward.
Like the Apostle
Paul, we should be able to declare we have fought a good fight, we have
finished the race, and we have served the Lord faithfully. If your hope is in
Jesus Christ, you will run the race without becoming weary; neither will you
faint, for the Lord God will be with you. Approach your life's journey with joy
and perseverance, staying focused on the ultimate victory. This race is not for
the swift, but for those who endure to the end.
Let us pray:
El Shaddai, God Almighty, we thank You, Lord God for reminding us in
Your word that victory is not determined by speed, but by the strength to
persevere until the very end. Almighty God, grant us faith, strength, and
perseverance to withstand temptations and the patience to complete this
journey. Almighty God, amidst self-defeat, disappointment, criticism, pain,
sorrow, discouragement, and the testing of our faith, propel us to be
steadfast, unmovable, unshakeable, and deeply rooted and grounded in our trust
in you. Lord, empower us to overcome every challenge and temptation we face.
Instill in us an enduring spirit so that we may persevere in our faith and
remain steadfast against the wiles of the enemy. Lead us, Heavenly Father, and
be our tour guide through the rough patches and the many dangers that lurk
ahead in the name of your son Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our
faith. Amen.
Wishing you a joyful day. 👏💕🙏
We are always running and training must be ongoing, no lapse in discipline is accepted. Winning is our attitude because the prize is too big to loose. Let us keep running. 💪🙏
