Mandate For The Mission

Meditation:

The mandate for mission is an authoritative command, a divine commission that is non-negotiable for believers to spread the gospel and make disciples. Those who are sent by God are commissioned to go forth and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things as commanded by God. In the book of Mark, chapter 16, Jesus commands the disciples to go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone, and those who believe and are baptized shall be saved. We are commissioned to declare the glory of the Lord among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations, for great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised. Jonah was sent to proclaim the gospel to the people of Nineveh, a direct order to fulfill God's mission. One of our key missions is to spread God's love, point people to Him, and bring glory to Him. This is a mission that applies to all believers, not just pastors or missionaries. As believers, we are chosen and equipped for God's mission; therefore, let us not grow weary in well-doing, but persevere and be fervent in our service to God.


Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, matchless in power and sovereignty, we thank you for your divine mandate given to us to go forth and make disciples of all nations. We acknowledge that you are in control, O God, that our lives belong to you, and so we avail ourselves to be used by you to fulfill your purpose. Open our spiritual eyes and ears, Lord, to clearly see the unique path You have set for us and to hear Your voice. Remove confusion and doubt, granting us the clarity to understand and walk in Your will for our lives and ministry. Break every chain that hinders our mission, remove powers blocking opportunities. Empower us with your word, fill us with the Holy Spirit, and grant us wisdom, patience, perseverance, and courage as we seek to carry out the mission you have assigned unto us through Jesus Christ. Amen.
