Warning Before Punishment

Good morning

Scripture reading: 1 Timothy 3:1-13, 1 Samuel 2

Worship song: Search My Heart

Meditation:

Eli was ordained as the priest to handle the affairs of the church and matters concerning God. However, he had some weaknesses, for he was unable to reprimand his sons; he failed to govern his household and bring them up to fear the Lord. We are reminded in 1 Timothy 3:4-5 that those chosen to lead God’s people should be persons who rule well over their own households, having their children in subjection with all gravity.

If he fails to rule his own house, he won't be able to monitor the church of God. Leaders are responsible for the spiritual well-being of those under their care and must give an account to God. Leaders and ministers are called to guide others in wisdom and lead them on the right path. They must be blameless, live with integrity, speak truth, and be examples in conduct, faith, and purity. This calls for an unwavering focus on the divine and the pursuit of salvation. We must be mindful of our actions, admit our wrongdoings, and not intentionally provoke the Lord our God, for He is a consuming fire.

Let us pray:

Sovereign God, the ruler of heaven and earth, I humbly bow before thee seeking forgiveness for we have trespassed against thee, O God. Purge us with hyssop, O God. Cleanse and purify our hearts from every contamination of earthly sinful desires. Almighty God, this morning we place our leaders and ministers under your divine watch. O God, we humbly pray for a renewed outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon all who are in ministerial leadership. Grant them Your divine protection, abundant wisdom, sufficient grace, and unmerited favor as they serve faithfully. We intercede, O God, for those who are shackled by heavy burdens and the weight of self-will. Father, deliver them from their self-righteousness and selfish desires, lest they be consumed by pride and fall into divers temptations. Almighty God, may our actions, deeds, and conversation always serve as a sincere and genuine reflection of our Lord. Help us remain strong in our faith, guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a peaceful day. ✌💞🙏
