Keep My Commands
Good morning
Scripture reading: Deuteronomy 6
Worship song: I command my soul
Meditation:
God established His covenant with the Israelites and gave them specific instructions regarding the keeping of His statutes and His commandments. Moses emphasized the need for the Israelites to love the Lord with all their heart and keep His laws in their hearts if they want to enter the Promised Land and enjoy the blessings that await them. They were to observe and do the will of God and love the Lord God with all their heart, soul, and with all their might.
In obedience to the law, they were advised to forget not
the Lord that brought them out of bondage, live a godly life, teach the word of
God diligently to their children, and proclaim it in their household and
wherever they go. The precepts of the Lord should be observed and instilled in
our children to guide them and bring them up in the admonition of the Lord. As
Moses emphasized to the Israelites the importance of keeping the Lord's
command, we should also do likewise. It is of utmost importance that we love
and obey the Lord, lest we miss the promised land that Jesus has gone to
prepare for us. Love the Lord with all your heart, in all you do acknowledge
Him and He will direct your path.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, everlasting Father, I give thee thanks, O God,
for the reminder to love the Lord with all our heart and soul. Lord, we
acknowledge our failure to align our lives with Your holy laws, and ask for
Your mercy and guidance to walk in them now. Heavenly Father, we confess that
our generation has neglected the command to diligently instruct our children in
Your ways, failing to make Your truths the central conversation in our homes
and daily lives. We have failed, O God, to minister to our households and
impress into their hearts the word of God. Father, most of us are guilty of not
spreading the gospel wherever we go. Heavenly Father, we now commit to walk in
all your ways, to love and serve you with all our heart and soul, and to keep
your commandments through the directive of the Holy Spirit. Father, we seek to
walk closely with You. As we strive to teach Your statutes to our children,
please give us the discernment to do so with understanding and with a heart
that is fully surrendered to Your will in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of
Nazareth. Amen.
Wishing you peace and safety. ✌💕🙏
