Abound in Knowledge
Good morning
Scripture reading: 2 Peter 1: 1–10
Worship song: Worthy
Meditation:
In addition to staying pure from worldly corruption and being diligent, Peter's letters outline several specific attributes of good stewardship. He advised us to add these attributes to remain fruitful and fertile. He describes a process for developing spiritual maturity. His guidelines instruct believers to adopt Christ-like characteristics intentionally, behave in a righteous and godly manner, utilize their gifts to serve others, practice cheerful hospitality, and remain humble.
We must actively use the resources God has given us to guide our actions and achieve our purpose. The more knowledge we have of God, the closer we get to Him, and the more we learn to apply the steps necessary for spiritual growth, of which the greatest attribute that we need to obtain is love. When we forsake all to follow Christ, the word of God empowers us and the Holy Spirit equips us to advance in life through Him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Let us pray:
Father of wisdom and limitless grace and mercies, name above
all, be thou glorified. Father, we give you thanks, O God, for the knowledge
that you have imparted to us. Father, we give thanks for your divine power,
your divine promises, and everything you have made accessible to us as needed
to help us grow spiritually and live our lives to the fullest. Almighty God, we
acknowledge that the attributes outlined in your holy word are necessary to
help us become effective and fervent. We seek, O God, and desire in our lives
virtue, patience, compassion, temperance, kindness, and most of all, brotherly
love. Abba Father, we desire to be fruitful and fertile stewards, working
together with the help of the Holy Spirit to perfect our lives in Christ
through godliness and holiness. Father, we pray for forgiveness, blood
coverage, grace, and mercy as we transition from corruption through Jesus
Christ, who has purged and washed away all our sins. I lift my heart in
gratitude for all that you have provided, Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Amen.
