Fan Into Flame
Good morning
Scripture reading: 2 Timothy 1:1-6
Worship song: Fresh Fire
Meditation:
The Apostle Paul attributed Timothy's profound spiritual wisdom and faith to being deeply rooted in the sincere faith, scriptural teaching, and godly lifestyle modeled by his mother, Eunice, and his grandmother, Lois. Passing on our spiritual heritage to our children is our responsibility, directly fulfilling God’s command to teach them His ways. We are encouraged by King Solomon ( Proverbs 21:6) to train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Paul knew Timothy was timid, so he wrote a letter encouraging him not to let his God-given abilities grow dormant or be hindered by fear. He commissioned him to exercise his God-given authority and boldly step into his calling. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. As a trusted companion and fellow worker, Timothy's unwavering faith and deep devotion elevated him to become one of the most influential leaders of the early church.
Therefore, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all
wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16).
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, we thank You for our ancestors who were
deeply devoted to You and faithfully raised us to acknowledge Your commands and
walk according to Your ways. Gracious God, grant us a deep desire for Your Holy
Scriptures in this modern era. Strengthen us to fulfill our God-given potential
and faithfully walk in obedience to Your commands. Lord Almighty, grant us the
wisdom not to lose heart in well-doing. Protect us from complacency and fear,
and empower us to step forward and confidently exercise the authority You have
given unto us. Father, we pray for the wisdom to diligently guide our children
in Your word. Let our conversations be filled with Your truth, whether we are
gathered as a family, taking leisure walks, or resting. In the precious name of
Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wishing you an awesome day. 👏💕🙏
