It Is Time to Come Home

Good morning

 Scripture reading: Psalm 107:1-9

Worship Song: I Look Down the Road and I wonder (Medley)

 Meditation:

O wandering heart, driven by selfish desires, searching and meddling in things that displease the Lord, do not kick against the pricks. The pricks, also known as goads or cattle rods, are long pointed sticks used to guide or spur oxen pulling a loaded cart. The pricks keep the oxen humble, and if they began to rebel by kicking out at the pricks, it would result in the pricks being driven into their flesh, causing more suffering. Paul, whose name was Saul, like the ox, was rebelling against God. He was on his way to Damascus to persecute the Christians when he had a blinding encounter with Jesus. It is foolish and futile to resist God's will. It is much better to heed God’s voice, to listen, and to yield to the pangs of conscience. By resisting God’s authority, we are only punishing ourselves. Do not allow the spirit of stubbornness to keep you trapped, bound in your lustful state. You who are far from God, come home to Jesus Christ, because the person who wandered out of the way of the Lord shall remain in the congregation of the lost souls. Like a parent who anticipates the return of their children, so the Lord awaits those who have wandered away from Him. Do not allow the spirit of rebelliousness to cause you to remain in the wilderness. It is time to come home and enjoy the peace of Jesus Christ. Now is the accepted time, so do not harden your heart, but allow the Lord to come in and change your life.

 Let us pray:

Eternal Father, I thank you, O God, for the constant call for sinners to come home to you. Almighty God, at times, our actions are as senseless as the ox kicking against the pricks because we are so blinded by our self-will desires. I pray, Father, that the same way you took control of Paul and let him know his rebellion against God was a losing battle, you will do the same for those of us who are stubborn and drifting down the wrong path. Father, I pray that the wanderers will return to you, forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forth to those things that are before. Almighty God, stir our spirit and let us have a burning desire to walk in your will. Lord, may you continue to guide us and take authority over us, redeeming us to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a wonderful day. 💕🙏
