The Great Covenant

Week of prayer - Day 6

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:33

Let us pray:

   My Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the ultimate covenant keeper, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. We hail you, King Emmanuel, for you alone are worthy of all praise. Lord, we proudly acknowledge your promises, assuring us that your covenant of peace will not be removed, and your love will never fail. We recognize and honor the profound covenant relationship you have established with humanity through your son, Jesus Christ. 

   We are deeply grateful for your love, loyalty, and mercy. Father, forgive us for breaking this sacred covenant we have established with you, and forgive us for the times we have worshiped and idolized foreign gods instead of exalting you. We repent for our disobedience, stubborn self-will, and rebelliousness. 

   Almighty God, we discard every Babylonian idol from among us; we renounce sin and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to you. We are determined to align our lives to be in conformity with your will and cultivate a deeper, more meaningful relationship with you. Break every covenant that we have established that does not glorify you, O God. Jehovah God, we are confident in your ability to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us. 

   We are grateful for your laws written upon our hearts and for dismantling the barriers that separate us from you. We pray that the covenant we make on earth will be fulfilled according to your promises in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Good morning Scripture reading: Psalms 139 Worship song: Where Can I Go   Meditation:      Overwhelmed with emotion, the Psalmist reflects on God's incredible, infinite power and omnipresence, marveling that God is intimately acquainted with every detail of his life, even his most hidden thoughts and feelings. God's wisdom and knowledge are unattainable; none has the power to obtain them. While we can earn academic titles, and be blessed with the spirit of discernment, we can never earn the boundless wisdom and knowledge that belong only to God. The Psalmist acknowledged that God's power is beyond human understanding. He realizes he cannot hide from God because God is always watching.       As Psalm 139 states, there is nowhere to flee from God's presence. Good morning Scripture reading: Ezekiel 14:1-8 Worship song: At Your Feet   Meditation:      The Lord rescued the Israelites from Egypt and took them away from their lifestyle of bondage in slavery and their customary worship of idols. The Israelites encountered the love of God and were granted freedom through his divine power. Nonetheless, they regularly transgressed against the Lord and returned to idolatry, and for that, many of them did not reach the promised land. Like the Israelites, many of us, after encountering freedom, have returned to our former lifestyle, allowing our self-will and desires to cause us to be entangled again in the yoke of sin and transgressions.       Those who believe in Christ experience a spiritual rebirth, a transformation from their old lifestyle governed by sin to a new spiritual identity in Christ. Squatters Occupying the Land

Good morning Scripture reading: Numbers 34:1-13 Worship Song: Way Maker   Meditation:      God made a covenant with Abraham in which he promised he would multiply his seed and make of him a great nation. God promised to bless him and his generation and give them the land of Canaan. The land was already occupied by various inhabitants, but God had to evict them so that Abraham and his descendants could possess the land. Our thoughts and hearts are vulnerable to the controlling influence of Satan's forces, who act as spiritual squatters.       To remove these spiritual intruders, we must invite Jesus Christ to take possession of our inner lives. Satan and his cohorts will remain inhabitants until we actively invite Jesus Christ into our lives to forcibly evict these unwanted spiritual tenants.
