Good Will Follow You
Good morning
Scripture reading: 1 Samuel 20
Worship song: God, You're So Good
Meditation:
The remarkable story of Jonathan and David reflects on displaying kindness in the face of adversity. The exceptional bond between them was tested and revealed true friendship and loyalty. Jonathan, aware that his father, King Saul's reign, was nearing its end, made a powerful covenant with his trusted friend, David. He asked David to show kindness to his household once he became the reigning king. Later, Jonathan risks his life to shield and protect David from King Saul, whose boisterous behavioral display reveals his intention to kill David.
By helping David escape, Jonathan demonstrates true loyalty and courage. After Jonathan's death, David honored their covenant, extending kindness to Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son, by inviting him into his household to share in the abundance at his table. This act encourages the principle that repaying goodness contributes to a continuous display of kindness and compassion. When we repay kindness with kindness, it helps us deepen our appreciation for what we have received.
Therefore, as we have the
opportunity, let us be intentional to do good to all, especially to those who
are of the household of faith. When we choose to extend kindness to others,
goodness and mercy will follow us throughout the days of our lives.
Loving Savior, all my life, you have been faithful and good to me. Help me, Lord, to see the good in every person and in every situation and show compassion in all my actions. Lord, fill my heart with love and kindness and help me to recognize the needs of others and respond by showing empathy and compassion. Help me, Lord God, to sow seeds of mercy, kindness, and the fruit of the spirit in my words, deeds, and actions to everyone I encounter. May my life be a reflection of your grace, love, and mercy, and may your goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life. Almighty God may your blessings meet my needs, the needs of my loved ones, and the needs of those I encounter in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and King. Amen.
Keep safe. Shalom. ✌💕🙏
Thank you Jesus Amen
ReplyDeleteIt is time to reflect on the goodness of God. Often time people forget about God thinking He is enough in Himself, while that is true He created us for His purpose and want us to react to His call, His voice, His words, His love. He is a God that communicates.
ReplyDeleteHe came down to talk with Adam and Eve way back in the garden of eden. He is still reaching out to humanity today. Why don't everyone have a little talk with Him. Though we cannot see Him, He can be touch. He is near, nearer than we believe. God bless you. 🙏🙏
