Keep My Commandments

Good morning

Scripture reading: Deuteronomy 6

Worship song: I Command My Soul

Meditation:

God established his covenant with the Israelites and gave them specific instructions regarding the keeping of his statutes and his commandments. Moses affirmed the need for the Israelites to love the Lord with all their hearts and keep his laws in their hearts if they wanted to enter the promised land and enjoy the blessings that awaited them. They were to observe and do the will of God and love the Lord God with all their heart, soul, and might. In obedience to the law, they were required to live a godly life, teach it diligently to their children, proclaim it in their houses and wherever they go, and not forget the Lord who brought them out of bondage. The precepts of the Lord should be observed and instilled in our children to guide them and bring them up in the admonition of the Lord.

As Moses taught the Israelites the importance of keeping the Lord's command, we should also do likewise. It is of utmost importance that we love and obey the Lord, lest we miss the promised land that Jesus has gone to prepare for us.

Let us pray.

Almighty God, everlasting Father, I give you thanks, O God, for your spoken word that reminds us that we should love the Lord with all our heart and soul. Lord, as I dissect your words, I realize how much we have failed in many ways to live by your statutes and commandments. Almighty God, so many of us have failed to diligently teach your precepts to our children and to speak about you in our houses and wherever we go. We have failed, O God, to teach our households and impress into their hearts the word of God. Father, most of us are guilty of not spreading the gospel wherever we go. Almighty God, may we now begin to establish a covenant with you by committing ourselves to keep your commandments, live according to your will, and love you with all our heart and soul. Lord, as we seek to draw closer to you and teach your principles to our households and our children, grant us wisdom to do so with clarity, patience, understanding, and willingness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Have a wonderful day. 💕🙏
