Prioritizing Your Desire
Good morning
Scripture: Matthew 6::25-33
Worship song: I Desire Jesus
Meditation:
What is your greatest desire in life? Is it for worldly gain or the Kingdom of Christ? Your desire to know more about Jesus Christ should be your priority over earthly pursuits. The ultimate aspiration of every believer is to deepen their relationship with Christ and follow the pathway of righteousness. As followers of Christ, we must diligently study God's word to gain knowledge and a profound understanding of his will. Our desire must be to submit fully and surrender to God, our Master.
Reflect on King Solomon's testimony. After experiencing the heights of worldly success, he realized that without a connection to God and a spiritual purpose, even the greatest achievements and pleasures are ultimately meaningless and lead to a sense of emptiness and weariness. King Solomon confessed that all his gain was vanity and vexation of spirit. While we may be pursuing worldly achievements and possessions, we must bear in mind that a life without Christ is devoid of true joy and everlasting peace.
We are reminded in Matthew 6:33 that we should seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and he will supply all of our needs. May I encourage you to delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Let us pray:
Adonai, I worship you, O King, because you are worthy to be
praised. Father, I patiently wait on you to supply me with fresh anointing, and
let the power of the Holy Spirit reign down upon me, consume my selfish
desires, and fill me with heavenly desires. Almighty God, slay the desires that
are detrimental to my spiritual growth. I crave, O God, the bread that will
satisfy my soul, my longing heart, and my deepest desire. Lord, as I go
about my daily task, may I seek you first in all that I do and put you in front
of my melody, making room in my heart for you, Jesus, because you are all that
matters. Abba Father, do not withdraw your Holy Spirit from me, let him lead me
where You will, and I will go without a murmur. Continue, Lord God, to lead and
direct me to make profound and meaningful decisions. I desire to honor and
serve you wholeheartedly, so help me and teach me, Lord, to submit fully to you
in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Let us pursue righteousness so that all other desires be subdued. When we do first things first everything else will be aligned. Blessings.
