Too Clogged to Function

Good morning

Meditation:

    I witnessed a plumber remove debris from a clogged drain and was astonished by the amount of buildup that obstructed the water flow. This is a typical demonstration of our heart condition clogged with unconfessed sins. If we allow sin to accumulate in our lives, we will become like clogged drains. The plumber's role is to clear the drains, but Jesus specializes in redeeming us and clearing our hearts of the hoarded sins. 

    Unconfessed sins create a barrier between us and God, and because we hoard iniquity in our hearts, he will not hear us when we cry unto him. The only solution for the accumulation of sins is to bring them before our Lord and Savior in confession. When we repent and confess, Jesus is faithful to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 

    Remember, hidden sins can neither be acknowledged nor forgiven because God cannot forgive what we fail to confess. Only when we confess them can we be forgiven. A clogged drain will remain blocked if not rectified, and so will our sins if we do not confess them.

Let us pray:

    Sovereign God, this morning we seek your divine cleansing power to purify our hearts of carnal weaknesses, iniquities, and every unconfessed sin. Almighty God, unclog our hearts of every sin we have hoarded, the ones we have neglected to confess. We beseech you, Lord God, to erase all our transgressions and remove every sin that hinders our commitment to you. Lord, cleanse us of the sins that separated us from you and liberate us from the stronghold that binds us to sin. Abba Father, by your mercy, I want to present myself as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto you, O God, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
