No Foreign God

Good morning

Scripture reading: Judges 10

Praise song: You deserve the glory

Meditation:

The children of Israel constantly trespassed against the Lord God by worshipping and bowing to false gods. Their desire to serve other gods kindled God's wrath against them. They disobey God's commandments and then appeal for mercy and forgiveness. God's help was conditional on the Israelites' obedience. Each time they rebelled and turned to other gods, He handed them over to their enemies. However, whenever they humbly repented and turned back to Him, He forgave them and sent a deliverer to rescue them. Jehovah God is a compassionate, merciful, loving, and forgiving God, but that does not mean we should blatantly sin against him.

The same command that applies to the Israelites still applies to us today. We are to put away the foreign gods that are among us, fear the Lord, and serve Him sincerely. Anything we idolize and worship other than our creator becomes our god. Don't allow His wrath to be kindled against you, remember the Lord our God is a consuming fire and a jealous God. The whole purpose of man's existence is to fear God and keep His commandments. We are called to live a life of reverence for God, which includes worshiping, seeking him, and obeying his will, as all actions are subject to divine judgment.

Let us pray:

My gracious, and loving God, I am grateful for your words of wisdom as a compass to guide us into all truth. Almighty God, I have searched and found none that is worthy to take your place, and so God, I surrender my life to you as a living sacrifice with the promise to serve you sincerely. Gracious God, Your majesty is beyond compare. You alone deserve worship, honor, and praise for all that you have brought us through, the opportunities you have made possible, and the blessings you have bestowed upon us. I denounce and relinquish all foreign gods and goddesses, all Baal gods, and any god that seeks to take your place. I declare by your divine help to stand in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. I humbly ask You, Lord, to remove far from me anything that I idolize above You. Please forgive me, Lord, of all my shortcomings and pardon my iniquities in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a peaceful day. Be safe. ✌💖🙏
