A Righteous Deed

Good morning

Scripture reading: Joshua 2

Worship song: Jesus Use Me

Meditation:

There are a specific purpose and plan for everything under the sun, a principle that the story of Rahab, a Canaanite woman and a prominent figure in the book of Joshua, beautifully illustrates. Rahab resided in Jericho, a city known for its strong pagan worship, during the time when the Israelites, led by Joshua, were preparing to conquer the land of Canaan. She is highlighted as someone who hid the Israelites' spies demonstrating her faith in God. She believed in the God of the Israelites and was aware of his divine power and faithfulness towards the Israelites.

For her bravery and kindness towards the spies, Joshua ensured that her entire household was rescued before the city was destroyed. See Joshua 6:22-25, and Hebrews 13:21. Rahab and her family integrated into the Israelites' community. Scholars believe that she later married Salmon (Matthew 1:5) and bore Boaz, the husband of Ruth. Her story is significant as it demonstrates God's grace and mercy towards a woman of questionable reputation. Her life transformed when she encountered God. James 2:25 highlighted her act of safeguarding the messengers as a righteous deed. Remain courageous and faithful to God believing He can use you to accomplish significant things and help guide others towards their destiny. Be of good courage, the Lord's intentions are for your well-being and prosperity, not disaster.

Let us Pray:

Almighty God, we thank you for your unmerited love and redeeming power, bringing us out of darkness into your marvelous light. We are grateful, Lord God, for your divine plan to prosper us and not to harm us. We surrender completely to your divine authority and humbly avail ourselves to your will and your ways. Fill us with your Holy Spirit as we avail ourselves to be used by you to accomplish great things for your honor and glory. Lord, we depend solely on you to help keep us rooted and grounded, daily abiding by your precepts. Grant us the spirit of unwavering endurance to overcome difficult challenges and excel in our divine purpose in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a wonderful day. 💞🙏
