Called to Serve

Good morning

Scripture reading: Matthew 10:1-20

Hymn: Just as I am

Meditation:

Jesus Christ selected ordinary individuals to serve as his disciples; He also endowed them with authority over unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal all kinds of sickness and diseases. Among those Jesus chose as his disciples were tax collectors and fishermen. As Jesus commissioned his disciples for service, He provided precise instructions to take the gospel to willing listeners and to the lost sheep.

The disciples were informed that they would encounter some stubborn, self-willed persons, who would reject the gospel. They were sent among the vilest of sinners and advised to exercise wisdom, be harmless, and remain focused on their mission. They were also warned about the persecution they would ultimately face. If you are called to serve, do so with a willing heart, knowing that you are serving a mighty God who keeps His promises. Do not worry about what you must speak, or what challenges you will encounter, for the Holy Spirit will empower you and fill you with words of wisdom to address the lost.

The message of hope is ours to carry into the world, and we pray that all individuals will repent and believe; however, the decision is theirs to make. Nevertheless, we must continue to teach, preach, and spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

Let's pray:

Jehovah God, ruler of heaven and earth, I turn to you, O God, to grant us wisdom and knowledge as we dissect your word. Jehovah Rapha, grant us the spirit of boldness to proclaim the message of salvation wherever we go, to the unbelievers, the self-will, the self-righteous, those who have refused to surrender to you, turned their backs on you, or refused to heed your call. I pray that the light of Christ within us may impact lives and cause others to surrender to you. Almighty God, I pray that as the gospel is proclaimed to those near and far it will penetrate hearts and break down walls of separation. I ask, O God, that hearts will be receptive to the gospel, even amid persecution and suffering. O Lamb of God, I pray that the guilty will bow before you and confess their faults, so they can receive pardon for their transgressions. Touch the heart of the lost, and dying sinners, O God, that they may surrender their lives to you and rejoice in Your grace, goodness, and mercies through Jesus Christ our advocate. Amen.

Wishing you a wonderful and safe day. 👏💕🙏

  1. We are God's temple, we are ambassador for the Lord, we to be reflecting Him. Among all the things we encounter, when we remember we are not our own we should think and act differently. Let us at all times remember we represent Him. 🙏🙏💪
