Consumed By Pride

Scripture reading: 2 Kings 5

Worship song: I will wait

Meditation:

Naaman, commander of the army of King Aram of Syria, a well-known mighty man of valour became sick with leprosy and desire to be healed. When news came to him about the prophet with the gift of healing, he hastily went to Israel. Naaman became angry when prophet Elisha requested that he dip in the Jordan River to receive his healing. His outburst prompted his servants to reasoned with him and encouraged him to follow the advice of the prophet. Naaman then reluctantly obeyed and dipped himself seven times in the river and came out completely healed. Naaman's pride and stubbornness to follow the prophet's simple instruction almost caused him to lose his healing deliverance. Being too proud and stubborn can also cause us to lose the blessings God has in store for us. We, too, should obey the Word of God, even when God’s way does not make sense to us. Our breakthrough comes when we believe and trust God. Without believing, without exercising our faith, and consumed by pride our situation will remain unchanged. Believe and trust God's power and you will receive your breakthrough, healing and deliverance.

Let us pray:

My Dependable Father, my rock and fortress, all praises and honour belong to you, O King. Healing God, there is no physician as great as you, Lord. Heavenly Father, as we bow before you, I pray that you will breathe on us and dissolve our misconception of your wonder working power. Lord, at times pride gets in the way and delay your blessings, overflow and breakthrough. Almighty God, destroy and break the chain of pride and stubbornness. Father, kill flesh now and break our desire and help us to thirst after your righteousness. Father, may we listen attentively to your instruction and obey your commands for the benefit of our wellbeing. Almighty God, grant us knowledge and wisdom through the Holy Spirit less we perish. Mighty God, please continue to abide with us and help us as we seek to learn more about you, and about your will and desires so we can better understand what your requirements are of us through Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Have a peaceful and joyful day. Blessings.🩷
