Putting Up Resistance

Good morning

Scripture reading: 1 Peter 5:6-11

Worship song: If It Had Not Been

Meditation:

Recently, during my leisure time, I watched a wildlife documentary and was dumbfounded by the vicious way in which these animals attack and bring down their victims. Most of all, I was startled yet captivated by the hunting techniques displayed by the lions and how they captured and slew their prey. No wonder Peter describes the devil as a roaring lion prowling about seeking whom he may devour. At no time should we let down our guard because the devil is always on the lookout, waiting for an opportunity to launch his attack. We are to be sober, vigilant, and watchful with our drones on the lookout and our antennas alert and ready to send off signals of impending danger. We should be armed and ready for defense at all times, lest the devil catch us off-guard. The devil is cunning and crafty; therefore, we cannot resist him if we are not completely submissive to God. Let us, therefore, submit ourselves to God and put on the whole armor so that we can stand against the wiles of the devil. Let us put up resistance against the devil, and he will have no choice but to flee from us.

 Let us pray:

My dear Heavenly Father, all glory and honor belong to you, Almighty God. I adore you, O God, for at the mention of your name all people great and small shall bow in admiration of you. Jehovah God, all power belongs to you, and so, Father, I avail my frail being to you, God. Father God, I cannot stand against the wiles of the devil, for he is persistent and persuasive, but I know he is no match for you, God, and so Father, I cast all my care upon you, submitting myself to you and surrendering your will. Father, take authority over my life, guard, shield, and protect my heart, my mind, and my soul from the darts that are launched at me, mighty God. Incline my heart to listen when you speak, be it through your manservant, your written words, or through your Holy Spirit. Father, whatever I asked of myself, please grant it also to those whose desire is to be submissive to you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.

Keep safe. Shalom. 💞🙏

  2. Those who are incastarated dream of freedom so while we are free we should never be entangled. Speaking of freedom from sin, one can be trapped but because of the pleasure it offers, the sweetness one receives will never reveal its deadly nature. This is why the word and the Holy Spirit must be activated in us that our conscience will signal us.
Our heart is a battle ground every day. Who wins is who we alow. The flesh or the Spirit. Let us continue to give way to the Holy Spirit that we will live a victorious life. God bless you immensely.
