Do Not Look Back

Good morning

Scripture reading: Isaiah 43:18-19

Worship song: Make Room

Meditation:

There is a natural human tendency for us to reminisce on what we have left behind, especially a life of luxury and pleasure. When God was about to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, he sent his angels to escort Lot and his family to a safe place, away from the city. However, Lot's wife disobeyed the warning and looked back. She was too attached to her lifestyle of glitter and glamour, focusing on the things she was leaving behind, so she suffered the consequences of her actions. Apostle Paul urges us to forget those things that are behind us and focus on the things that are before us.

As we traverse this pilgrim land, press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God. Remain steadfast and focused, looking ahead and not behind. Consider not your old sinful lifestyle, for the Lord God is doing a new thing in your life. God is calling you to a higher place of praise. He is calling you to a place where rivers flow through the desert and manna is available in the wilderness. If you are convicted by the Holy Spirit, do not harden your heart but be receptive to God's divine communication. Remember, God has a plan to prosper you, to give you hope and a future.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we glorify you, O God, for you are worthy to be praised. Almighty God, we give thee thanks for rescuing us from a lifestyle of nothingness to a higher place of praise and sweet peace. Thank you, Abba Father, for snatching us out of the murky streams, out of the dungeons, and from off the hell-bound train. We are grateful to you, O God, for the one-way ticket that you have purchased with your blood to carry us safely to the promised land. Father, we thank you for bringing us to a place where the peace of God abounds, where only the redeemed are welcome, and the penitent sinner is set free. Father, I pray that we will remain at Liberty Hall, steadfast and focused on you, O God, not looking back with a longing desire for the ungodly things you have rescued us from in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a peaceful day. ✌💕💪
