Capitalizing on Weaknesses
Good morning
Scripture reading: Isaiah 40:28-31
Worship song: You Are My Strength
The damsel mentioned in Acts 16 had the spirit of divination and was exploited by her master to solely fill his coffers. He had no interest in her except to fill his treasury with riches. This serves as a powerful reminder of the manipulation tactics that exist in society today. It is essential to recognize these manipulation tactics and know when you are being exploited by others. It is also crucial to recognize the situation, prioritize your well-being, and set boundaries to protect yourself.
However, it is difficult for those who are vulnerable to prioritize and set boundaries. When you are vulnerable, it is easy for people to capitalize on your vulnerabilities. They will play on our empathy and kindness until they are satisfied. Many deceivers take advantage of the opportunity to exploit the vulnerable for personal gain, often through manipulation.
The strong persons ought to help bear the infirmities of the weak and be alert, vigilant, and watchful. Help the vulnerable by warding off the persuaders and influencers who want to capitalize on the weak and destitute. Be a tower of strength to the vulnerable and hearken to the cry of the feeble who are imprisoned by the use of flattery, threats, force, and false promises used by exploiters. Defend the weak and helpless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Help by delivering the weak and vulnerable from the hands of the wicked.
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, we need you now more than ever as we see the wicked in great power spreading themselves like a green bay tree. Protect us, O God, from evil influences. Grant us the spirit of discernment to recognize those who are seeking to capitalize on our weaknesses. Help us to recognize and discern flattery, false promises, and pretenders who falsify behavior appearing as genuine. Almighty God, guard our hearts from those who seek to exploit our vulnerability for personal gain. Help us, Lord, to be aware of potential exploit risks and deceptive intentions. Lord, we look to you to teach and guide us to establish clear limits on what to tolerate or accept from others. Lord, we ask that you confound the mighty, reveal their deceptive actions, and let their hidden agendas be exposed; let judgment run down as waters and righteousness as a mighty stream in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Have a peaceful day. ✌💕🙏
