Knocking on Heaven's Door
Good morning
Scripture Reading: St. Luke 11:5-13
Worship song: We Need to Hear from You
Meditation:
As I glean from this passage, I envision the friend making the necessary adjustments to welcome his distant visitor, providing the necessary hospitality and atmosphere required for comfort. To seek help from close friends is never an easy choice, but when faced with dire needs, it is essential to put aside pride and rise to the occasion. Knocking on his friend's door was likely a last resort, but his desperate midnight cry for help was powerful enough to evoke compassion from his friend, who had already retired for the night. Ultimately, wearied by his friend's persistence, the scripture highlights the unwavering support of loyalty in catering to a desperate need.
This parable delivered by Jesus addresses key concerns about our relationship
with God. If your friend can rise at midnight to assist you, imagine what our
Heavenly Father will do to supply all our needs. Our persistent prayer will
evoke the compassion of our master. His door is never closed; he does not
suffer lack, nor will he withdraw help from those who earnestly seek him. Jesus
Christ encourages us to ask, seek, and knock, promising that we will receive that
which we desire. Whatever you seek from the Lord, ensure you are seeking first
and foremost his will and righteousness, and He will provide for your daily
needs.
Sovereign God, I glorify you and praise you for the evidence of your grace and mercies surrounding us. Lord, you have called us from darkness into your marvelous light, and for that, I express deep gratitude. Mighty God, with a humble and sincere heart, I approach your mercy seat, aligning my ways with your will. My desire, O God, is to know you more deeply, to remain at your feet, and to cultivate a lasting relationship with you. I want to remain at your feet, Lord, until I am broken, mended, and remolded as you desire. All I want is you, Lord; my earthly possessions mean nothing if I'm living without you. Here I am, Lord, knocking on heaven’s door, not seeking to be blessed with earthly possessions, but seeking spiritual cleansing, fresh Holy Ghost anointing, a refuge for my soul, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Shalom. ✌💕🙏
What a friend we have in Jesus. He is loving, caring, understanding, forgiving, protecting and more. No other friend like Him.
