Seeking Validation

Good morning

Scripture reading: Genesis 29:31-35

Worship song: Open the Eyes of My Heart

Meditation:

In moments of uncertainty, it is common for us to seek validation and approval from others. Leah experienced this deeply, despite being married to Jacob. She faced neglect and a lack of the attention she desired. Despite all her hope and desperate attempts to impress her husband and gain his love, he remains devoted to someone else. Leah eventually redirected her focus from seeking her husband's approval to praising the Lord. Like Leah, we often fall into the trap of being people pleasers, relying on external validation instead of trusting God's unwavering approval. We strive to impress others, and when we don't receive the recognition we seek, we are left feeling rejected.

It is wonderful to gain approval from those around us, but depending solely on the validation of others can lead to feelings of rejection and disappointment. We should not seek vain glory but instead embrace the fact that we are already validated by our Creator. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, fashioned in God's image and likeness, and designed to fulfill his purpose. Whatever we do, let us work heartily for the Lord and not for men, seeking validation from Him alone. Humans cannot discern God's will for us or recognize the purpose he has birthed within us.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, I am exceedingly glad that you are my covenant-keeping God, the provider and restorer of my faith. Thank you, Almighty God, for shifting my focus from seeking human validation to relying on You. Only you, O God, know the plans and purpose you have for me, and only you, Lord, can bring forth what you have instilled within me. Father, thank you for allowing me to understand that people cannot validate and approve of that which they cannot recognize. Heavenly Father, I choose to glorify and praise you in every situation even when I can't see your plans. Remind me, dear Lord, that you are the one who approves and validates every action I take. Help me to rejoice, serve you, dwell in your presence, and trust in your plans for my life through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a blessed day. 💗💪🙏

  2. What matters? when God is first, everything will be regulated. When I was growing up, there was a song which says. Thy everything and when everything fails, try Jesus which is so wrong.
This is the complication of many people troubles.
While we need relationship, validation, affirmation. We should still stand because God is our main stay.
    🙏🙏
