Beware of Deceivers

Good morning

Scripture reading: Genesis 27:1-33

Worship song: Waiting Here for You

Meditation:

Deception derives from the Latin word 'decipere', meaning "to ensnare or "to take in." It is the deliberate act of leading someone to accept falsehood as truth. This practice is harmful and contrary to God's will. The cunning tactics employed by Jacob and Rebekah in planning and executing their mission illustrate just how easily manipulation strategies can be used to accomplish one's desire. Deception was the concept used by Rebekah to deceive Isaac and help Jacob obtain the blessing intended for his brother Esau.

Proverbs 11:18 informs us that the work of the wicked is to deceive the vulnerable. Psalm 101:7 warns us that those who engage in deceit will not dwell within the house of the Lord. The verse further emphasizes that those liars will not endure in His sight. The Bible contains numerous examples of deception and warnings against it, highlighting its consequences and offering guidance on discerning truth from falsehood.

Deception is one of Satan’s primary weapons used against Eve in the Garden of Eden, and he is still using it to deceive and mislead humanity. We must stay aware, vigilant, and alert, conscious of deceivers, particularly those who do not teach the truth about Christ and deny that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, your word declared that as it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end. We recognize that deception is a potential weapon used by Satan to manipulate and ensnare. Father, we ask for your protection against his crafty devices and that you help us remain conscious of his schemes. Almighty God, we present our limitations to you, fully relying on the Holy Spirit for spiritual discernment and guidance in identifying and resisting deception. Lord, bestow upon us wisdom and understanding as we delve into your word. Strengthen us, Lord, to be steadfast and vigilant in identifying truth from falsehood. Rescue us, O God, from those who are deceitful and wicked. Save us, LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues through the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a lovely day. 💕🙏

  1. It is important to know the truth. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. From whom one learn the truth is very important. Individual or organization or institutions must have a record of truth telling and teaching. In all of this the Holy Spirit is the regulator. When He the Spirit of truth is come He will guide you into all truth. One does not have to allow themselves to be enticed by the things that tickle their desires, just being obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. God bless you always for healthy thoughts. Shalom.
