A Taste of Sin
Good morning
Scripture reading: Romans 3:20-25
Worship song: Judge of the Secret
Meditation:
The movie 'A Taste of Sin' explores the themes of temptation and sin through the stories of two servants of God facing different struggles, finding themselves confronting forbidden desires, grappling, and wrestling with the hidden darkness within. The movie sheds light on the seductive nature of transgression and how easy one can be victimized and fall prey to temptation.
Romans 3:10 reminds us that none of us is righteous, as Jesus illustrated in St. John 8, when He challenged the accusers' own moral standing, emphasizing that they are not qualified to cast judgment. No one can achieve perfect righteousness on their own or by their own efforts for we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Everyone, regardless of perceived strength, is subject to temptation, which is a common weapon meant to defeat us on our spiritual journey.
Temptation is a reminder to stay focused, remain steadfast, and constantly be aware of potential dangers. We must stand firm in the word, resist the devil and he will flee. No matter the test, be confident and be assured that God is faithful and will not allow us to be tempted beyond our endurance capacity. Moreover, God always provides a means of escape, equipping us to withstand every test. God's grace covers our sin, so let us resist sin and strive for holiness and obedience as a response to his grace.
Let us pray:
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we trust your power to preserve and protect us. Lord, we acknowledge our shortcomings and vulnerability to sin. We confess our weaknesses, repent sincerely, and confidently ask you to forgive us for trespassing against you. Order our steps, O Lord, silence the strange voices, and open our ears to hear and recognize your still guiding voice. Speak profoundly to our hearts and grant us wisdom to understand your holy words. Keep our hearts and minds pure and shield us from fleshly desires. Equip us to resist the devil so he may flee. Lord, while grace abounds, may we resist the desire to sin in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wishing you a fantastic day. 💓🙏
It is said of sin, it first blind you, bind you, keep you longer than you want to stay and take you further than you want to go. It is very enticing and can make addicts out of anyone. Without the help of the Holy Spirit one is doomed to damnation. We must resist with the power of the Holy Spirit. God will keep anyone who surrender to Him. He is a preserver of young and old. Blessings
