Wait On the Lord
Good morning
Scripture reading: St. Luke 5:2-8
Praise song: I Will Wait
Meditation:
Ms. Cole, a mother of three sent out several applications and resumes seeking employment, but she received no response. She possesses the necessary skills, qualifications, and experience required to fill the vacant positions advertised, yet no one called her for an interview. Two years have passed since her last job, and while she felt the mounting pressure to provide for her children, she remained steadfast. Although her savings were depleting, she refused to succumb to hopelessness. Hearing of another job opening, her sister encouraged her to apply. Though she hesitated, she submitted the application with a glimmer of hope.
This reminds us of the
fishermen in St. Luke 5, who toiled tirelessly all night without
success. When Jesus instructed them to launch their nets into the deep,
they hesitated but ultimately obeyed and were rewarded with an abundance beyond
their expectations. Like those fishermen, Ms. Cole chose to act in faith. She
applied for the job, attended the interview, and is now reaping the benefits of
the fruit of her obedience, flourishing as a Customer Service Representative.
Let us pray:
Father in heaven, help us not to give up even when things look hopeless. Teach us to trust in you completely and wait patiently for your provision. We thank you, Lord, for our great needs, viewing them as opportunities to depend on you solely and trust your promises. We wait patiently, Lord, as we look to you with great expectations, knowing and believing that you will supply all of our needs as promised, according to your glory. Almighty God, we trust in your great love, power, and faithfulness to fill the void within us. Father, we surrender all our needs, physically and spiritually unto you, and ask kindly that you grant us fulfillment according to your desires. Father, touch our hearts and mind this day and allow the peace of God to dwell within us. Father, we express sincere gratitude for your faithful promises and matchless love through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Shalom. ✌🙏
