He Bears Our Iniquities
Good morning
Praise song: Nailed To The Cross
Meditation:
Isaiah's prophetic declarations about Jesus Christ in Isaiah 50:6 and Isaiah 53, written centuries before the Messiah's birth, were fulfilled in the life and death of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. Out of immense love, Jesus, though perfect and without sin, laid down his life and took upon Himself the burden of our transgressions so we could be set free. The magnitude of his penalty revealed his willingness to sacrifice himself, as He endured the extreme pain of physical suffering.
Through the use of graphic and detailed imagery, the movie 'The Passion of the Christ' portrays the immense suffering and agony Jesus endured as the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. He was rejected and abandoned, mocked, laughed to scorn, spit upon, pierced for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities. He voluntarily gave his back to the smiters, who scourged him with a flagrum until his flesh was exposed. After forcing a crown of thorns upon Jesus head, the soldiers taunted Him, using a reed to repeatedly strike him on his head. How can we disregard so great a sacrifice? Jesus took upon himself the punishment we deserve for sin, nailing them to the cross to reconcile us to God and bring us peace.
Let us pray:
Everlasting Father, I am wholeheartedly grateful to you for
sending your son Jesus Christ to pay the debt we owe. I have searched and have
not found greater love among humanity than your love, Lord Jesus. Father, I
cannot fathom such immense unwavering, unconditional love, for us a people that
are stiff-necked, rebellious, and disobedient. Here I stand, O God, so unworthy
of the price you paid; yet your sacrifice awards me right to the tree of life.
I am profoundly grateful to you, Lord, for surrendering your life on the cross
to secure my freedom. Into your hands, I commit my life, O God, surrendering to
you completely. At the altar, I humble bow, O God, where my soul is healed by
your scars, and the weight of guilt I bear no more. Gracious God, I give you
all the glory for the salvation I have received through Jesus Christ. Amen.
When we pray God hears more than we say, answers more than we ask, gives more than we imagine , in his own time and in his own way. Blessed morning. How many times must I prove how much I love you. How many ways must my love for you I show. How many times must I rescue you from trouble. For you to know just how much I love you. Pray with me. Dear God, thank you for your endless love and countless blessings. I am grateful for your presence in my life and for the strength, peace, and joy you provide each day.Help me to always remember your goodness and to live with a heart full of gratitude. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen. Stay blessed. 🙌🏾
