Clothed in Earthly Attire
Good morning
Scripture: Hosea 2:1-13
Praise song: Kill My Flesh
Meditation:
The prophecy of Hosea serves as a plea to the Israelites to turn away from their unfaithfulness and to return to God. Their sinful and lustful lifestyle has caused a separation between them and God. Although this prophecy was originally directed at the Israelites, it remains valid to all nations today: urging them to forsake their selfish and egoistic desires and return to Jesus Christ, their first love. God continues to beseech all backsliding nations, tribes, and people to relinquish earthly pursuits, pleasures, and concerns that distract us from seeking God wholeheartedly and sincerely.
God promises to strip us naked, to take away everything we cling to dearly, and leave us dry as the wilderness if we continue to yearn for the things of this world, the things that cause a division between Him and us. He will strip away everything we attach to if we continue to serve other gods instead of serving Him. Return unto your first love, all backsliding nations.
Return to the God of
your salvation. Return to the Creator who holds your future in His hand, lest
He consume you in His wrath. Return to the God of all creation, and he will
betroth thee unto Himself in righteousness, mercy, and loving-kindness.
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, the God who calms the raging seas, I come
before You, O Lord, acknowledging that only You can guide us out of our
wilderness and desolate dry places back into Your loving presence. Almighty
God, I ask that You help us daily surrender our wills to Yours, O God, trusting
in Your divine purpose for our lives. We depend on Your Holy Spirit, Your
grace, and Your word to perfect what concerns our well-being. Lord, fill our
hearts with Your Holy Spirit and inspire us to forsake worldly temptation. Help
us nail our selfish desires to the cross, O God, and pursue Your righteousness.
Father of patience and compassion, forgive us for adorning ourselves with
worldly things and rejecting what is holy. Almighty God, wrap us once again in
Your righteousness and loving kindness. In the precious name of Jesus Christ,
our Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
Wishing you a day filled with joy and peace. ✌💕🙏
When one realize what matters most ,we should pursue it. The entanglement of life is always there, it is for us to be filled with the holy spirit to be able to navigate these things. There are 17 works of the flesh that Paul listed in Glatatians 5:19-21 that will hinder one from entering the kingdom of heaven and not only that but will dam one eternally. 🙏🙏
