False Prophets Among Us
Good morning
Scripture reading: 1 John 4:1-16
Worship song: Beware of False Prophets
Meditation:
Unaware of the deception, many will follow the pernicious ways of the false prophets; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of ( 2 Peter 2:2). Reading about false teachers is one thing, but actually hearing someone identified as a prophet confidently preaching that God did not send His Son to die for sinners is deeply unsettling. Dismissing the historical reality of Jesus' crucifixion and the true gospel is highly concerning, as it contradicts established biblical and historical evidence.
Apostle Paul issues a severe warning against anyone altering or adding to the teachings of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:8-9). Jesus Christ warns us in St. Matthew 7 to beware of false prophets who come to us in sheep's clothing. False prophets are deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ with the power to masquerade as ministers of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
Jesus proclaimed in St. Matthew 24:24 that false Christ and false prophets
would claim to possess supernatural abilities or highly enchanting powers,
making it difficult to discern the truth. Beloved, do not accept every
spiritual claim without evaluation; scrutinize the teachings to determine their
divine origin, as numerous false prophets are now active (1 John 4:1).
Let us pray:
Sovereign God, we thank You for Your word, which is a lamp
unto our feet and a light for our path. Almighty God, please grant us spiritual
discernment to identify those who speak in Your name but lead others astray
through deceitful and harmful teachings. Help us, Lord, to identify those whom
You have not sent, those You did not give a command. Lord, we acknowledge that
not everyone who casts out demons or lays on hands is proof that they are Your
ministers. Father, grant us vigilance to guard our hearts against the snares of
divination and sorcery. Lord, protect us from the wolves in sheep's clothing
who misuse Your authority. Grant us wisdom and understanding, O God, to obtain
knowledge through Your holy word so we can shun the appearance of evil. Open our
hearts to listen, Lord, for we are so easily captivated by displays of
supernatural power that we often miss the true source from which these things
originate. Lord, grant us the wisdom to discern between the messages You have
truly authorized and those spoken without Your divine mandate. In the precious
name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Be vigilant and guard your heart. 💕💪🙏
In Jesus name Amen
