The First Responders
Good morning
Scripture reading: Luke 10:25-37
Worship song: I Will Say Of The Lord
Meditation:
The story of the Good Samaritan illustrates the essential role of first responders. These individuals are recognized for positively influencing the lives of others by providing assistance using their skills and emergency techniques. Their duties include administering CPR, First Aid, assessing situations, providing initial care to victims, and relating vita data to dispatch and hospitals while focusing primarily on saving lives and protecting their own safety and that of others. Typically, first responders are the first to arrive at emergency scenes.
Though not the first to arrive on the scene, the Samaritan responded with compassion, care, and kindness, brought the victim to the innkeeper, and paid for the victim's treatment. As Christ's ambassadors, we act as the initial response team to bring the message of the gospel to those who do not belong to God's Kingdom, helping, prayerfully interceding, and rendering physical, financial, and spiritual assistance as needed. Jesus said the poor, those with needs, will always be among us.
Meeting
needs can attract criticism, but first responders ignore their critics out of
their deep love for God and people. If you can help, do so as a first responder
for Christ; even simple words of encouragement make a vast difference in the
ears of the destitute.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, Your ways are excellent; You are good, and
Your mercies endure forever. Father, give us eyes of the Good Samaritan to see
the hidden hurts of those around us. Fill our hearts with radical mercy, love,
kindness, and compassion. Lord, we ask You to grant us the spirit of
discernment to readily recognize those who have needs and the courage to assist
the needy. At the same time, help us to be vigilant lest we fall victim to
betrayal. Please open our eyes to see the needs of the needy so we can render
assistance promptly. As first responders for Jesus Christ, make us effective,
fervent, and resilient. Strengthen our weaknesses and help us live a purposeful
life according to Your will through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Wishing you abundant blessings. 👏💕🙏
