What's In Your Treasure Box
Good morning
Scripture reading: Mark 12:41-44
Praise song: Sacrifice of Praise
Meditation:
The story of the poor widow invites us to reflect deeply on the true definition of generosity and the importance of selfless sacrifice. The widow's small offering highlights the example of genuine giving, in contrast to the large donations from the wealthy who gave from their abundance. Jesus was not focused on the amount given. He was focused on the widow's willingness to sacrifice all her livelihood.
The message conveyed is that a cheerful and sacrificial spirit is more valuable than a large amount, because God judges the gift based on the giver's willingness and the condition of the heart, not the size of the contribution. Our offerings to God should be given freely and genuinely, as He values the sincerity and condition of our hearts over the size of the gift.
As we reflect on the account of the widow, may we take into
consideration the presentation of our offering unto the Lord, bearing in mind
the principle that the value of a gift is measured not by its monetary amount,
but by the sacrifice and intention behind it. What is it that we are willing to
surrender? Now is the opportune moment to devote our service, hours, heart, and
thoughts as a free-will offering to the glory of God.
Let us pray:
Jehovah God, I worship you, O Lord, because you are worthy
to be praised. We humbly bow before your throne, O God, with our offering of
sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Father, I pray, O God, that as we offer
our sacrifices unto you this morning, it will give off a sweet-smelling aroma
that is pleasing to you, Lord. We pray, Father, that our gifts to You will be a
true, sacrificial offering, not just a customary one. Almighty God, we
acknowledge that regardless of the proportion of our sacrifices, it is an
expression that truly reflects the conditions of our hearts. Father, we
wholeheartedly commit our entire being, heart, mind, body, and soul unto you,
Lord. We pray that You take control of our lives and let them be wholly
consecrated, Lord, to You. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.
Amen.
Wishing you a joyful day. 👏💗🙏
