When Enemies Become Friends

Meditation:

    King Herod and Pontius Pilate were long-standing rivals. However, on the day of Jesus’ trial, they set aside their differences and united in their decision to condemn an innocent man, thereby becoming allies in their pursuit. Herod and Pontius Pilate acted to safeguard their political interests, maintain public order, and appease the crowd, even as they unknowingly fulfilled God's divine plan. 

    Often, when former enemies collaborate against an individual, it is driven by mutual hatred, jealousy, or a desperate desire to control what they cannot conquer. But when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will raise a standard against him. Trust in the LORD who fights for you, and find peace and comfort in His power. God will cause your adversaries to unite against you and in His mercy, scatter them in seven directions in defeat (Deuteronomy 28:7), for the Lord your God is the one who fights for you, ensuring victory. No weapon formed against you shall succeed because the Lord your God is your defender.

Let us pray:

    Almighty God, this is the day Thou hast made; we will rejoice, and be glad in it. Thou, O Lord, art our Shepherd, our shield, and our protector. Thou, O God, art our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Even as we walk through the shadow of death, we shall fear no evil, for You are with us; Thy rod and Thy staff, comfort us. Though we walk in the midst of trouble, Thou art the one who preserves us and keeps us safe. You, O God, are the one who stretches Your hands against the anger of our enemies. Prepare a table before us, O God, in the presence of our enemies, and let no evil befall us, nor plague come near our dwelling. With hearts of gratitude, we thank You, Almighty God, for Your divine protection, and for assigning Your angels charge over us to keep us in all Your ways. In the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

    The Bible is filled with so many lessons. It is history, laws, promises and many more. There are so many things we can deduce and learn from. Very interesting. 🙏🙏
