Prisoner Deprived of Liberty

Good morning

Scripture reading: Ephesians 4:1-6

Worship song: Chain Breaker

Meditation:

Imprisonment is not limited to physical confinement; it may also arise from external circumstances or from being held captive by one's own thoughts. An imprisoned person, whether confined by the state, by the mind, or by external challenges, is deprived of liberty and subjected to involuntary restraint, custody, or confinement. While a nation-state may confine an individual for an unlawful act, a person may also become a prisoner of the mind, trapped by negative thoughts, fears, and unresolved trauma. Similarly, someone may become a prisoner of external circumstances, allowing the outside world to govern their inner peace and personal strength.

The state detained the Apostle Paul not as a common criminal, but because of his unwavering commitment to proclaiming the gospel. Although Roman guards bound him, Paul did not regard himself as a victim of their justice system. Rather, he saw himself as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, living wholeheartedly for Him, and securely grounded in His grace.

To whom are you bound? Are you bound by your thoughts, the justice system, or by external circumstances? Let us willingly place ourselves under God's authority, surrender fully to His will, and remain grounded in His truth. May our lives be living testimony to our complete devotion to Christ.

Let us pray:

Everlasting Father, we exalt, praise, and glorify You for You have brought us out of darkness and the shadow of death. Lord, we worship You for Your goodness and for the wonderful works You have performed among us. Almighty God, we proclaim Your word, affirming that whatever we bind or loose on earth has already been decreed in heaven. We release ourselves from every entanglement that is not in accordance with Your word. Plead our cause, O God, and break every stronghold, every wall of separation, and anything that holds us captive. Grant sight to the blind, break the chains of fear, anxiety, and unresolved trauma, and free those who are imprisoned by their own thoughts or circumstances. Almighty God, we thank You for Your tender mercies, boundless grace, and compassion, and for breaking our bonds and setting us free. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Wishing you a blessed day. 👏🙌🙏

  1. Paul a prisoner of the Lord Jesus Christ. Though not physically detained, can we consider ourselves a prisoner of the Lord Jesus Christ. Considering all the circumstances that held us bound and limits our freedom, we are in a picurios position. With no chains holding us, though it feels like, let us use the liberty we have in Him to bring all the glory we can to His name in every way we can. Whom the son set free is free indeed. Continue to establish yourself in the Lord you are doing fine. Carry on for Him. 🙏💪🙏💪
