The Dangerous Iceberg
Good morning
Scripture reading: Acts 27: 27-44
Worship song: Speak to Move Mountain
Meditation:
In 1912, the luxurious Titanic, designed and engineered with advanced safety features to prevent it from sinking met a tragic fate when it collided with an iceberg. The severity of the massive collision ultimately led to its tragic sinking. A similar tale unfolds in today's scripture. During a turbulent voyage to Rome, the ship carrying Apostle Paul, a prisoner, encountered a boisterous storm while sailing on the Adriatic Sea. With the winds raging and the ship tossing violently, fear and despair gripped the passengers and crew. The ship eventually wrecked on the Island of Melita, known today as Malta. Amidst the chaos, Paul stands firm, assuring the 276 souls on board that they are safe, urging them to eat to maintain their strength and survival.
Apostle Paul's experience is a powerful reminder that challenges can arise at any moment, but we can trust that God will keep us safe and deliver us from them all. You may face an iceberg on your journey or encounter a boisterous storm, but do not be discouraged or dismayed; Jesus is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. Jesus said, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."
If there is a mountain you are facing, if
there is a giant in your way, if you are bound by circumstances, if you are in
pain, you can call upon Jesus Christ anytime.
Let us pray:
Almighty God, as we gleaned from the scripture, may we come to realize that all our help comes from you, O God, and only you can deliver us out of all our troubles. Lord God, we surrender the mountains, the valley experiences, and the raging storms we encounter daily at the altar of mercy. We trust you to deliver us from our past, present, and future afflictions. Take us to you, O King; take us to the mercy seat where our true help comes from. We surrender to You all our hurt, pain, worry, doubt, fear, and anxiety, and every obstacle we encounter. We wait patiently for you, Lord, to nullify the plans of the wicked in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.
Be blessed. 🙏🙏
There is nothing our God cannot do. All the ups and downs, valleys and hills. God is there with us and many times it does not feel that way but He is there all the time. Trust and faith grows out of adverse conditions. It is important to stay in the situation and cry until God brings deliverance. Like the example of Job, inspite of his lost, God bless him more in the end. Will we trust God to work it out, whatever our situation. Yes we will. Only believe, all things are possible. 🙏🙏
ReplyDeleteBlessed morning. God is faithful. Stand still and let God move. Standing still is hard to do. When you feel you have reached the end. He'll make a way for you. Stand still and let God move. Loving God sometimes I feel like the disciples when they were in the boat, tossed around by powerful winds and fierce waves. But then I remember how the story ends, with your son Jesus speaking peace to the storm. The disciples were amazed, wondering what kind of man this was who could calm a raging storm. I adore you because you are the only One powerful enough to quiet the storms in our lives. Amen. Stay blessed. 🙌🏾
