Betrayed By a Friend
Good morning
Scripture reading: Matthew 26: 47-50
Worship song: Man of Sorrows
Topic: Betrayed By a Friend
The story of Judas' betrayal is a stark reminder that not every individual close to us is loyal and genuine. Judas was chosen as one of the Twelve Apostles, but his actions demonstrated a lack of faith and belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Many people come into our circle, but their motives are self-interest. They eat, drink, and communicate with us, but their desire is for our downfall. Judas's actions show that someone can appear to be a devoted friend while inwardly harboring deceitful intentions. They can easily conceal their true character by hiding their agenda behind seemingly harmless actions.
Be aware that persons who appear to be deeply
concerned about your problem may do so for personal purposes. Once they gain
your trust and get what they want, the genuine care ceases. Judas's ability to
hide his true intentions from other disciples for years shows the effectiveness
of deception. It is a warning that external actions do not guarantee a genuine
transformation of one's heart. Judas was blinded by worldly gain and heeded
temptation, causing him to suffer the consequences of his actions. Whether you
are motivated by self-interest or a genuine desire to help the vulnerable, your
actions will not go unnoticed. Be wise and use discernment for there are many
deceivers among us.
Let us pray:
Spirit of the living God, empower us this day as we seek the
gift of discernment to identify genuine connections and distinguish them from
deceitful pretenders. We call upon your divine intervention to illuminate our
path, helping us recognize those who may seek to manipulate or deceive us.
Surround us with sincere and faithful believers who offer us spiritual wisdom,
guidance, and encouragement. Lord God, grant us the vigilance and focus we need
to remain alert, ensuring we do not fall victim to deception. Equip us with the
wisdom to delve into your holy word and apply it boldly in our daily lives. Be
our anchor, our guide, and our strength, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
To thine ownself be true and then thou can't be false to any man. The determination by anyone to be true must be underline by the Holy spirit, less one become half bad and half good is there is such a term. Jesus advice His disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until he be endued with power. He knows the various devils they would encounter, so the antidote of the Holy Spirit is paramount. We cannot live without Him. Let us adhere to His leading and guide. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteBlessed morning. God is faithful. I can't even walk without you holding my hand. The mountain is too high and the valley is too wide. Down on my knees. I've learned to stay. I can't even walk without you holding my hand. Loving God, today I come before you, and I ask you to lead and guide me. May I know each day the truth that you are with me always, that your grace is sufficient and is made perfect in my weakness. Help me to trust you each step of the way. Help me to leave everything in your hands. This I ask in Jesus's name. Amen. Stay blessed 🙌
