The Conditional Promise
Good morning
Scripture reading: 2 Chronicles 7:14
Worship song: If My People
Meditation:
After the dedication of the temple, the Lord appeared to Solomon with a covenant promise. In this profound message to the Israelites, God promised to heal their land and forgive their transgressions a divine covenant that comes with conditions. In return for their freedom, God specified four conditions that must be fulfilled by the Israelites.
The first recommendation was for the Israelites to humble themselves before God and acknowledge their dependence on him. Secondly, they were to communicate with God through fervent prayer. Thirdly, seek and pursue a deeper relationship with God and align their lives to his will. And the fourth recommendation was to recognize and take responsibility for their sins, making a conscious choice to change their behavior and seek God's forgiveness.
This scripture states that
when we sincerely repent and obey all his commands, he will forgive and restore
us. When the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed,
and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. We are
warned to repent and turn from all our transgressions so that iniquity will not
be our ruin. The Lord has no pleasure in the death of the wicked; His desire is
that all persons receive salvation and be saved.
Let us pray:
Alpha and Omega, I
glorify and exalt your holy name. I praise you, Lord God, for your grace and
mercies which are renewed each day. You are awesome and your mercy endures
forever. Father, we thank you for the privilege of confessing and repenting of
our transgressions and iniquities, known and unknown. Lord God, we have strayed
from the path you set for us. With sorrow for our choices, we return to you,
trusting in your mercy to heal what is broken. Lord God, we solely depend on
you for spiritual guidance and direction. Change our hearts, O God, renew a
right spirit within us, and teach us your way. We are calling on you, Lord to
help us overcome temptations and fleshly desires. We willingly leave behind
sinful habits to actively pursue a relationship with you, Almighty God. Lord, I
pray that you will hear us from heaven and heal our land in the name of Jesus
Christ. Amen.
Wishing you a joyful day. 👏💖🙏
