The Lord Has Broken Thy Works
Good morning
Scripture: 1 Kings 22: 48-53
Worship song: Spirit of the Living God
Meditation:
Jehoshaphat was thirty-five when he became king of Judah and served Jerusalem for twenty-five years, following in the footsteps of his father Asa. Jehoshaphat worshipped not the gods of his ancestors but sought the Lord God of his father, Asa, and walked according to God's commands. Therefore, the Lord was with Jehoshaphat and gave him control over Judah, and all the people brought him gifts so that he became extremely wealthy.
After his
father's death, he joined an alliance with Israel's King Ahaziah to make ships
in Ezion-Geber. Jehoshaphat’s desire to build ships was so that he could get
gold from Ophir, but the fleet of ships was destroyed by the Lord in
Ezion-Geber before they set sail to Tarshish because he chose to work with
someone who worshiped foreign gods. The king of Israel, Ahaziah, had done
wickedness in the sight of God, and his lifestyle choices provoked the wrath of
God. He chose to worship and serve the Baal gods, instead of serving the God of
Israel. Jehoshaphat made a bad decision when he joined an alliance with Ahaziah
and therefore reaped the consequences of his choice. Solomon's ships returned
safely, but Jehoshaphat's vessels never reached the land of gold.
Let us pray:
Lord God, my maker and the lover of my soul, I raise a
hallelujah to you, Lord, for you are worthy of praise. Almighty God, in our
ignorance, we sometimes make choices and decisions that cause us to join
alliances with unbelievers. Father, we seek your divine intervention to sever
any relationships that caused us to become unequally yoked together with idol
worshippers. Father, I beseech you to help us make choices and choose
counterparts who believe in you, fear you, accept you as King, and worship you
only. Father, I pray that we will seek to be holy, harmless, undefiled, and
separated from evil-doers lest our living becomes vain and our labor broken by
you. Almighty God, I pray that we denounce and detach ourselves from unfamiliar
spirits and those who worship foreign and Baal gods. Father, may we, O God,
hold fast to your teachings and principles, trusting the leading and the
prompting of the Holy Spirit, our comforter through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Amen.
Wishing you a peaceful day. Keep safe. ✌💗🙏
Blessed morning. God is faithful. We are living in a broken world , a broken world won't give you answers. Everything is upside down. Wrong is right, and right is wrong. But not for long, no, not for long. Loving God , we come before You with heavy hearts, acknowledging the brokenness that surrounds us. We see conflict, suffering, and injustice, and we yearn for a different way. We trust in Your promise that You have overcome the world, and You will bring about a final restoration. May Your Kingdom come, and may Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus' name, Amen.Stay blessed. 🙌🏾
