Seek Refuge in The Lord

Good morning

Scripture reading: Psalm 46

Worship song: Hide Me Now

Meditation:

In Joshua 20, God commanded the Israelites to establish six cities of refuge for those accused of accidental manslaughter without evidence of hatred, protecting them from the avenger of blood until they faced trial, demonstrating a system of divine mercy and justice that allowed unintentional murderers to find sanctuary until the death of the high priest, at which point they were freed. The accuser risked the death penalty under two conditions: if captured before reaching a city of refuge, or if they departed that safe zone before a trial verdict or the death of the current high priest.

Jesus is our city of refuge who fulfills this role by providing believers with a lasting spiritual refuge from the guilt and judgment of sin, shielding us from spiritual death through faith. We can seek refuge in Christ, where we can escape the wrath of God, the penalty for sin, and the dangers and destruction that are to come. Only in Jesus Christ are we safe and secure, free from all harm and danger. Only through Jesus Christ are we privileged to obtain salvation and freedom from the bondage of sin. Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, stands as our exclusive refuge and strong tower, offering the only true protection from life's dangers and afflictions; our trust belongs solely in Him.

Anyone seeking freedom from internal struggles and the weight of sin can find safe harbor and spiritual salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, who is ready to offer comfort and guidance.

Let us pray:

Everlasting Father, my fortress and strong tower, I place my unwavering trust in You. Preserve me, O God, and let me dwell in your presence all the days of my life. Father, I seek your divine intervention, praying you will give your angels charge over us, safeguarding us from harm, danger, and noisome pestilences. Protect us from every evil planner and those who conspire against us. We acknowledge you, O God, as our refuge and strength, our very present help in trouble. Block the path of those who set traps for our downfall, mighty God. Most importantly, Lord God, rescue our souls, hearts, and minds from the strongholds and corrupt thoughts that hold us captive. By your grace bind us to you, O God, and guide us into a closer relationship with you, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Wishing you a fantastic day. 👏💕🙏
