Age Is Not A Limitation

Meditation:

    Both Joash (7) and Josiah (8) were crowned king of Judah respectively making them the youngest reigning kings. Crowned at age 7, Joash ruled for 40 years, under the guidance of the High Priest Jehoiada. He repaired the Temple of the LORD and restored proper worship. Josiah was crowned at the age of 8 and did what was right in the sight of God. He began seeking the God of his ancestor David at the age of 16 and began purging Judah of idolatry at the age of 20, proving that it is never too early to follow God. 

    Josiah’s ascension to the throne at just eight years old and Joash's at age seven prove that God can use anyone, regardless of age, to fulfill His purpose. We sometimes hinder our children from serving because we are fearful they might fail. We must overcome our fear of their failure and support their desire to serve by encouraging them to step into service. With proper guidance, young people can be used by God to initiate change. Parents and or guardians should assist, rather than hinder, their potential. The biblical examples of Joash and Josiah prove that children are not too young to serve God.

Let us pray:

    Heavenly Father, I am thankful that your word confirms you equipped those whom you have called. Forgive us, Almighty God, for restricting our children’s spiritual journey through our own poor judgment about their readiness to follow You. Forgive us Lord, for our narrow-mindedness and our limited perspective. We confess, O God, that we have often prevented our children from excelling in ministry because we judge them by their age and not their God-given potential. We acknowledge, Almighty God, that no age is exempt from the adversary's assault. Aware that everyone regardless of age is prone to the devil's attack we willingly entrust our children to you, O God, giving you authority to use them for your purpose and your glory. Almighty God, we acknowledge Your control over the length of their lives, and we trust them to Your guidance, regardless of their age in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

    As I open your devotion and notice the age of these young kings Josiah and Joash, it was featured in some pass lesson a while back. Training must be given at an early age. Our pass weeks lesson emphasized that in so many ways. May God see them through.🙏💪

He Bears Our Iniquities

Good morning   Scripture reading: Isaiah 53 Praise song: Nailed To The Cross   Meditation:      Isaiah's prophetic declarations about Jesus Christ in Isaiah 50:6 and Isaiah 53, written centuries before the Messiah's birth, were fulfilled in the life and death of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. Good morning Scripture reading: Matthew 20:29-34 Worship song: He's Only A Prayer Away   Meditation:      The blind men sitting by the wayside likely spent many years enduring their affliction, waiting to be delivered, waiting for the opportunity to be made whole. They must have grown weary and tired of being in the same place and in the same situation. Nonetheless, they waited patiently, anticipating a breakthrough, believing that their change would come.
