He wanted to ensure they were fully aware of their purpose and expectations and that serving the Lord was not an exception. Therefore, he called the congregation together and spoke to them. To encourage and inspire the Israelites for future service unto the Lord, Joshua took time to expound in detail their history and expatiate on what happened throughout the years.
