He Bears Our Iniquities

Image
Good morning   Scripture reading: Isaiah 53 Praise song: Nailed To The Cross   Meditation:      Isaiah's prophetic declarations about Jesus Christ in Isaiah 50:6 and Isaiah 53, written centuries before the Messiah's birth, were fulfilled in the life and death of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. Out of immense love, Jesus, though perfect and without sin, laid down his life and took upon Himself the burden of our transgressions so we could be set free. The magnitude of his penalty revealed his willingness to sacrifice himself, as He endured the extreme pain of physical suffering.       Through the use of graphic and detailed imagery, the movie 'The Passion of the Christ' portrays the immense suffering and agony Jesus endured as the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation. He was rejected and abandoned, mocked, laughed to scorn, spit upon, pierced for our transgressions, and bruised for our iniquities. He voluntarily gave his back to the s...

Be Not Afraid

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Ezekiel 2 Worship song: Not Afraid   Meditation:      The Lord God commissioned Prophet Ezekiel to deliver a stern and unwavering message to the children of Israel, regardless of whether they chose to listen or rebel. God empowered, equipped, and strengthened him for the assigned task, instructing him not to be intimidated by the harshness or hostility of the rebellious, stiff-necked Israelites. This highlights God's divine mercy, relentless grace, unconditional love, and persistence in reaching out to humanity despite their unfaithfulness and rebellious attitude. God always sent his servants to forewarn before destruction, desiring that everyone repent and avoid eternal judgment.       There is no servant commissioned by God that is not fully prepared for the assigned task. He empowers the willing and obedient hearts. When God mandates you for an assignment, he provides the necessary grace, wisdom, and st...

Keep My Commands

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: Deuteronomy 6 Worship song: I command my soul   Meditation:      God established His covenant with the Israelites and gave them specific instructions regarding the keeping of His statutes and His commandments. Moses emphasized the need for the Israelites to love the Lord with all their heart and keep His laws in their hearts if they want to enter the Promised Land and enjoy the blessings that await them. They were to observe and do the will of God and love the Lord God with all their heart, soul, and with all their might.       In obedience to the law, they were advised to forget not the Lord that brought them out of bondage, live a godly life, teach the word of God diligently to their children, and proclaim it in their household and wherever they go. The precepts of the Lord should be observed and instilled in our children to guide them and bring them up in the admonition of the Lord. As Moses emphasized ...

Letting Go And Let God

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: 1 Peter 5: 6-7 Worship song: Take Me Back   Meditation:      When faced with difficulties or a pressing issue we cannot resolve, we tend to become agitated and unsettled. The inability to change a situation immediately leads to worry, anxiety, and frustration. We often forget that God is fully aware of our situations and has the power to change them. By placing our trust in Almighty God rather than our own strength, we unlock divine, boundless potential that far exceeds our highest hopes or requests. God is powerful enough to do exceedingly, abundantly more than we can ever ask or think.       When we trust God and seek his divine power and use the spiritual authority He has given us, we can command our obstacles to move, and they will. Today, if you are faced with a burning issue, let go and let God. When you are faced with a challenging circumstance, be still, knowing that God is capable. Cast your cares...

This Massive Obstacle

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: St. Mark 11:19-26 Worship song: Move Mountain   Meditation:      Upon noticing the fig tree had completely withered from the roots, Peter pointed out to Jesus that the tree he cursed had died. Jesus immediately saw the perfect opportunity to teach Peter and the rest of the disciples about faith, prayer, and forgiveness. He instructed them to speak directly to the mountains and commanded them to move. It takes faith as small as a mustard seed for our mountains to crumble. This is an indication that when unwavering faith is exercised we can conquer obstacles. Jesus assured the disciples that any prayer request made with total, unwavering trust in God would be granted.       Nevertheless, our prayers for grace are only effective when we release others from the debt of their offenses against us. Jesus emphasizes the need to forgive those who trespass against us so that our Father in Heaven will forgive us...

Words can Either Bless or curse

Image
Good morning Scripture reading: James 3: 5-12 Worship song: Ancient Words   Meditation:      James, a servant of God, while observing the behavioral trend of those around him, realized that their tongue is a very unruly member of the body and cannot be tamed. The words that proceed out of the mouth are cause for concern, as the effective power of words can uplift and then later tear down what they have erected. This operation of the tongue acts contrary to the will of God and is therefore deemed unacceptable. Words can be a lethal weapon, powerful enough to damage the character of others, stir up anger, condemn, curse, and destroy the spirit and self-esteem of those around us. Likewise, the tongue can also be used to build, uplift, motivate, comfort, praise, and help others in making the right decisions.       As children of God, our words should strengthen and motivate those with whom we come in contact. Therefore, no harmful words shou...

Actions Have Consequences

Good morning Scripture reading: 2 Samuel 1 Worship song:  Who God Says I Am   Meditation:      The Amalekite’s fabricated account of taking Saul's life in battle was an attempt to present himself as a hero in David's eyes. He was likely aware of Saul's relentless pursuit of David and therefore presumed that David would rejoice over his death and reward him. Rather than celebrate, David responded with genuine grief, mourning for King Saul whom he esteemed as the Lord's anointed. By claiming to have killed Saul to win David's favor, the Amalekite sealed his own fate and was executed for confessing to the crime.       We are instructed in Ephesians 4:25 to put away lying and speak the truth one to another, recognizing that persistent liars face eternal condemnation. Proverbs 12:22 makes it clear that lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who speak truth are his delight. The Lord hates a lying tongue and a false witness....
