The Man On The Middle Cross

Good morning

Scripture reading: St. Luke 23:39-43

Worship song: Jesus In The Middle Save Me

Meditation:

Obedient to his Father's will, He left the splendor of Heaven to bear the collective sins of our transgressions. He endured chastisement, oppression, and affliction and opened not His mouth to rebel. He bore our griefs and sorrow, yet He was rejected and despised. They gave Him a procession bearing his heavy wooden cross while they chanted, mocked, and cheered. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, whipped with many lashes and every stripe he bore represents our healing. His atoning blood was shed for the debt of our sin and he faced the wrath of God's justice poured out against our sin in our place so we could be saved.

Though he was found not guilty, he was judged and condemned as a convict, taken to the gallows, and hanged on a wooden cross between two thieves. His sacrificial death was significant for the propitiation of our sins, and not for ours only, but for the whole world. In his thirst, they gave him sour wine instead of water. Not a bone of His body was broken, but his side was pierced with a sword, and out gushed blood and water. As the breath left His body, He hung his head and cried it is finished; our debt paid in full. A love so rich, so powerful, and strong, unconditional without merit deserves recognition. All the saints shall assemble one day to meet the Savior who died in our place. Are you ready to meet Him? Will you acknowledge the Redeemer who paid your debt in full?"

Let's pray:

Savior more than life to me, I am clinging close to thee, O God. Lord, I have surrendered this earthen vessel to be clothed in your Heavenly robe. Almighty God, every day, every hour, let me feel your cleansing power as you draw me closer to you, Lord. I can never fully grasp the extent of your love, but I thank you for being my surgeon when my heart was broken and my friend when my soul needed comfort. I am grateful to you, O God for lifting my heavy burden of sin. I am eternally grateful to You, O God, for Your unconditional love and the sacrificial offering that redeems my soul from the debt it owes. I am extremely thankful for your grace and mercies that are new every morning, great is your faithfulness, O God. Almighty God, I am giving you total control of my heart, my mind, my soul, and my life; it all belongs to you, O God so lead and guide me as I avail myself to be used by you in Jesus name. Amen.

Wishing you a joyful day. 👏🙏💕
